NDA – National Defence Academy Exams Dates

NDA or National Defence Academy is a joint institution for Indian Armed Forces, like,  Army, Navy and Air Force. NDA applicants are selected via a written examination which they can give between the age of 16 and a ½ years to 19 years. UPSC conducts the NDA exam.  The candidates should be male and unmarried. Candidates need to apply online and appear for the exam on the respective date at respective centers.

The tentative schedule of the examination is, between March to April and August to September as two exams are held in a year for NDA. Then, extensive interviews are conducted which will cover general aptitude, psychological testing, team skills, social skills, physical skills and medical tests that are held by the Military Hospital. This year, the date of the exam is, 20th April, 2014, which is falling on a Sunday. The subjects of the written examination are mathematics and Genral Ability test consisting of 300 marks each.

Students need to be 12th pass for appearing for this exam and therefore many students give exams while they are in Class XII, XI, etc. So in case they do not clear in one go, they can attempt again. To clear the exam one needs to be good in General Knowledge, mathematics, science, etc. The general ability test is divided in two sections where Part A is in English and Part B is for General Knowledge. These tests are difficult to crack and to clear the exam one should practice the psychological tests like, word association test (WAT), Thematic Acerption Test(TAT) and many others which enhaces your thinking skills.
